Khong

At this point the Mekong splits into uncountable smaller arms. The Mekong gets
about 14 kilometres width here! With this mass of smaller arms the Mekong set up
4000 islands where a population of 60.000 citizen live! The largest island is
Khong. It is 16x8 kilometres large and has a population of 25.000 citizen.

This region of Laos is called "The world of thousand islands".
